New look for the central point of contact for media and politics

The eleven AOKs and the AOK Federal Association are pooling their content for the first time in a central location on the press and politics portal for journalists, representatives from associations, and political decision-makers. The portal was developed on the basis of comprehensive user surveys and is specifically tailored to the information needs of the media and political landscape.

The aim was to establish a central point of contact for all health policy issues, enabling quick access to relevant content and proactively providing users with up-to-date information. In this way, AOK has created a platform that combines user orientation, communication strategy, and technical efficiency in a modern, innovative solution.

Data-driven understanding, sustainable prioritization, effective implementation

The press and politics portal is aimed at a niche target group with specific requirements. With the help of in-depth user research, the development of relevant personas, and so-called key episodes, we were able to precisely identify the needs of the target group. Based on this, we prioritized the functions and elements that are central to user satisfaction and implemented them in the portal in a targeted manner.

This approach enables strategic development on a sound basis–one that is also comprehensible to stakeholders who are less digitally savvy. The result: a digital experience that really matters.

User-centered planning, consistent implementation

A well-thought-out, detailed concept forms the basis for a consistent user experience in the new portal. The goal was to create a clear mission statement that is consistently geared toward the needs of the target groups. Every step was coordinated, from the roadmap and information architecture to the technical implementation.

The result: a modern platform that enables AOK to maintain high-quality content independently – in a uniform, accessible design that is user-friendly for all age groups. This creates a coherent overall experience that provides orientation and builds trust.

A clear, data-driven strategy is key to developing a portal that reliably reaches a busy target audience—while helping to successfully balance the needs of different stakeholders.

Politics, practice, science – now all in one place

As part of the portal development, the renowned G+G magazine (Gesundheit und Gesellschaft; Health and Society) was also integrated into the new online offering. Specialist articles, interviews, and reports on health policy, scientific, and practice-related topics are now available in one central location—digitally, barrier-free, and accessible at any time.

The integration not only enhances the content, but also strengthens the portal's reach among important target groups such as the media, politicians, and experts. A clear structure and contemporary presentation make it easy for users to find relevant content quickly – on a platform that connects everything.

Together with Experience One, we faced the major challenge of reconciling many different requirements and needs. The team was always a reliable partner with creative ideas for implementing our portal. Together, we were able to launch a great new product that offers real added value for our target group.
