At ZEISS, the market leader in the optical and optoelectronic industry, we created the basis for smooth collaboration within different business units and target groups as part of the migration of the digital platform.
The result: better performance, over 800 pages in 6 languages and 40 modular designs and templates that make it easier to create new content and guarantee consistent quality. The migration represents a milestone in the continuous development of the ZEISS platform, underlining the commitment to offer customers and partners not only optimal usability, but also new value-added services.
Following the website relocation of the various ZEISS AG business groups, the Group and brand now have a uniform online presence. The websites impress with a strong brand design, consistent appearance and high usability. Thanks to our support with consulting, content and rollout management, ZEISS Medizintechnik fits seamlessly into this series. Together, we adapted the numerous different older template generations worldwide to the new standard. At the same time, the optimized and restructured information architecture and main navigation offer better SEO performance and user-friendliness. Through shared learning, other business groups within the Group also benefited from the project findings.
Maximum performance and an ideal display on the different viewports: To achieve this, we use ready-made page designs and templates. This not only ensures a uniform appearance that is in line with the ZEISS design system, but also guarantees simple editing and speed in the backend. Optimized tracking functions also make usability measurable, allowing the website to be further optimized in line with user needs in the future. An absolute precision landing, because thanks to a leaner architecture, ZEISS can now manage with less software legacy and maintenance work, allowing development to focus on more important topics in the long term.

In order to offer ZEISS partners and customers the best possible experience, we have further developed, optimized and supplemented meaningful HTML applications based on the previous feature set. As a result, the platform now provides services that set visual highlights in the ZEISS offering and significantly improve user engagement.
One example: In medical technology, the workflow app provides a comprehensive and intuitive overview of how ZEISS devices can be used in the various phases of medical consultation services. The apps complement the website offering at nodes in the user journey.
The platform's new e-learning offer provides all employees with practical advice and training. This makes it easier than ever to maintain a comprehensive brand presence on your own. With the help of page archetypes and copy decks, new content can be systematically briefed and created allowing product pages to be individually adapted to specific needs while remaining consistent. The english version of website serves as a benchmark and orientation aid for the most important markets, so that content can be transferred smoothly and without errors. This is not only a benefit for usability, but also has a positive effect on tracking and future UX optimizations.
